Treorchy Comprehensive School

At the beginning of March 40 Year 10 pupils and 4 staff enjoyed a memorable weekend in Disneyland Paris. This was the third year the trip had been arranged and once again it was a resounding success. The pupils behaved impeccably throughout the weekend.
The pupils enjoyed all the attractions in the park during the day. Like the Rock’n Roller Coaster, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. The most popular attraction being The Tower of Terror, Disney’s scariest attraction. The new Toy Story ride also proved very popular with the pupils.
The highlights for most pupils were the rides, the atmosphere in the park on the Saturday night and also the meal in Planet Hollywood. Pupils also enjoyed socialising with friends and the fantastic simming pool in the Explorer’s Hotel. Pupils had the chance to see Minnie Mouse in her Welsh costume, and the staff were lucky enough to have their picture taken with her. It was also a pleasure to see the local band, The Monophonics, playing in Billy Bobs Western Saloon.
Saturday afternoon saw the Welsh parade around the park. An excellent chance to see all the Disney characters in their Welsh costumes. The trip ended with a wonderful firework display and the pupil singing ‘Hen wlad fy nhadau’ before heading back to the hotel.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the trip, including the staff, and are looking forward to another successful trip next year.
