Treorchy Comprehensive School

We were once again very proud of the pupils’ work that was shown at the Annual Exhibition of The Ystradyfodwg Art Society. The opportunity to show just some of the work produced by our young people revealed the high standards and variety of work achieved and showcased not only the pupils’ talents, but also the hard work and commitment that those individuals have given to Art over the academic year.

This year the pupils chosen to exhibit their work and who achieved certificates and prizes were: Francesca Barker – Year 7, Ellie Jarvis – Year 8, Saffron Bowtell – Year 9, Shannon Power – Year 10, Ffion Clarke – Year 11, Rachael Williams – Year 12 and Rebecca Kinsey – Year 13. The overall award went to Ffion Clarke who has worked very hard this year at GCSE level and has made an exceptional personal improvement in her performance.

It is always a pleasure to have the opportunity to exhibit pupils’ work and the Art Department are very grateful to the Art Society for continuing to allow us the privilege. The pupils themselves got a lot from the event, witnessing their work alongside that of established artists’ for the community to see. We very much hope that the long-standing relationship between the school and The Art Society will continue for many years to come.
