Treorchy Comprehensive School

7SG of Treorchy Comprehensive School have been triumphant in this year’s group entry for the Urdd Art Competition.

Pupils were required to produce a piece based on ‘Movement’ as part of the Eisteddfod. The class took inspiration from American artist J. Vincent Scarpace and produced an oil pastel piece stretching nearly 5ft wide of a colourful semi-abstract fish. Each member of the class had their own section of the piece that they were each responsible for.

The class were thrilled when they won at County level but that wasn’t the end of their journey. Pupils have found out this week that they won throughout the whole of Wales for their category and are looking forward to receiving back their Artwork once it returns from exhibition at the Urdd.
