Treorchy Comprehensive School

The game was played in very testing conditions that gave Treorchy Comprehensives young side a real test against international opposition. The staff from Treorchy were keen to give games to many of the 2nd XV players who have yet to play 1st team rugby for the school and the experience the young players got was a real bonus.

The Dutch were strong up front but the resilient youngsters from Treorchy didn't give an inch. The contact area was fiercly competitive with great character shown from both sides.

Although Treorchy's lineout was dominant, the home team couldn't take advantage of the considerable territorial advantage they enjoyed and the Dutch scored 3 tries from midfield breaks to take the game at 0-15. One of their tries must be applauded for the slight of hand they demonstrated in such poor weather conditions.

Even though the school team lost, it was a great privilege for them to be selected to play against international opposition and an experience the boys will never forget.
