Treorchy Comprehensive School
The game was played with a ferocious intensity with two very committed and organised teams. Treorchy took the lead with a try from scrum-half Tom Williams as a result of a lineout deep inside the Cymer 22.

With the ball recyled at a pace quicker than could be defended, Williams darted from a ruck on the Cymer tryline to give Treorchy the lead. Outside half Jory Lewis converted.

With an enforced break at the start of the second half due to floodlight failure the tension of the fixture only grew. Treorchy, again with a lineout deep inside the Cymer 22 managed to score a second through hooker and Captain Ethan Lewis after a superb front peel lineout move. Jory Lewis again converted.

The game was not safe though as Cymer managed to press the otherwise well organised Treorchy defensive line and pinch a late try which they also converted. With minutes left, Treorchy Comprehensive managed to keep Cymer deep in their half and hang on for the win 14-7. They now await the result of the draw for the National knock-out stages of the Welsh Cup.
