Treorchy Comprehensive School

As part of the Shakespeare Schools Festival, thirty year ten pupils from Treorchy Comprehensive School will be performing their version of Macbeth in one of Wales’ most prestigious venues.
The SSF is the UK's largest youth drama festival. This is the 10th anniversary of the festival. Since the year 2000, 90,000 youngsters from 4,248 schools have performed in 225 theatres.
The performance will take place at 7:00pm on Monday, 18th October at The Weston Studio, Wales Millenium Centre in Cardiff. Treorchy will be one of three Welsh schools performing on that night; each school will perform a different Shakespeare classic.
The pupils attended a Shakespearean acting workshop at the Millennium Centre on the 22nd September run by actors from the National Youth Theatre.
As well as the performance side of the event, Head Boy, Elliot Howells and year 12 student, Amie Roberts have been assigned the roles of marketing director and head technician respectively. Elliot and Aime will be entered into a UK wide competition for their efforts and the winning team will get the chance to spend a day at London's main press office. The winners will be chosen based on the volume of ticket sales as well as the quality of the team's marketing efforts.
Tickets are available from the WMC at a price of £8 or directly from the school for £6. The school will also be providing a bus from Treorchy on the evening of the event for a minimal fee.
So why not join the Shakespeare Schools Festival and Treorchy Comprehensive on this date and see 3 local schools performing three half hour Shakespeare plays in an unforgettable evening of theatre.
