Welcome It is a pleasure and privilege to present the school’s website to you and I hope the information presented will give you a real insight into the services that Treorchy Comprehensive School provides for its students, parents and the community at large.
Our school serves the Upper Rhondda district and there are currently 1576 students on roll 330 of whom are in the Sixth form. There is a team of dedicated and committed staff and in both the last inspections in 2000 and 2006 the teaching was described as ‘a major strength of the school’. The school was also proud to receive seven Grade 1s (Outstanding) in all Key Questions and a Grade 1 in Bilingualism in the 2006 inspection.
The ethos of the school is firmly embedded in our core values of mutual respect, high standards of self discipline and hard work. An extensive and flexible curriculum, excellent pastoral care and a rich and diverse programme of extra curricular activities ensure that all our learners thrive within a caring and supportive atmosphere.
