The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) was established in September 2007, to provide extra curricular activities in order to develop individual’s qualities of public service. By means of a framework syllabus, participants build and develop their self-reliance, leadership and responsibility.
Students are able to enrol in the CCF in year 9, and will take part in adventure training activities such as climbing, hill walking, and canoeing, gaining qualifications along the way.
As a member of the CCF, cadets will have the opportunity to links the skill that they learn to a BTEC in Public Services, which is the equivalent of 4 GCSE’s A-C. The Duke of Edinburgh award scheme is actively promoted within the CCF, with nearly all activities in the contingent counting towards the award.
The CCF is extremely fortunate to be affiliated to 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, and cadets proudly wear their cap badge in their berets.
