Prison trip – year12 and 13 criminology
On the 1st December, students from Year 12 and 13 Criminology visited Shepton Mallet prison. They were ‘booked in’ and given prison attire to wear and then were taken on a very informative tour around the prison, gaining insightful knowledge into the history of the prison, how the prisoners used to be treated, a typical day as a prisoner, the execution area as well as accessing secret cells and real cells. They were told all about how the prison is believed to be haunted and about where bodies are buried! They spent time in the cells and were not allowed out until they answered some trivia on the prison that they had learnt on the tour!
A fantastic trip for the students who all enjoyed.
